I start the lot with Mr McGreggor and a pet. The pet is an offspring in the pet line. The pet is an extra so I don't need to find him a mate. I want to try to play out as many of the pet offspring as I can. So far, most of the glitches around pets have been fixed. I've not seen the one that the pets would get stuck in the ground.
The lot in snow. I changed the seasons, but the game has been programmed for the lots to load with snow. I'm using a cheat to clear the snow. I LOVE real snow, but don't care for it in the sims.
The lot with no snow, yet the pond remains frozen. It takes a few sim days for the pond to thaw out.
Mr. McGreggor begins to build friendship with the dog.
Inside the barn. What happened to the livestock? Some farm animals would have been a nice touch to the game. Since the game lacks those, it makes the design of the barn useless. I take out the fence.
Mr. McGreggor had a high relationship with this sim. The dated and fell in love.
Then woohoo. Catherine is a romance sim, so woohoo was what its about for her.
Catherine moves in adding $1,476 to the family funds.
I'm sure you can guess what McGreggor is doing but it looks like an April Fools joke to me. HEY your shoe is untied! What? I don't have shoe strings. Well, Mr. McGreggor isn't the sharpest tool in the shed. (For those new to BV, he responded with a low level bow as a response to her. The gesture learned from the orient vacation spot.)
Mr. McGregor learns to teleport from his guest. (Teleportation hack allows sims to learn teleportation from any sim who has learned it. Very nice.)
Engaged. Her romance ways are showing.
Marriage.
The plantsims throws a kiss at the groom. I think Mr McGreggor is a knowledge sim. He certainly isn't a romance sim. I'm not sure what the plantsim aspiration is, but she is attracted to him. I didn't think to look at lighting bolts.
The wedding ends in a roof raiser. I never think to order a bartender. For the wedding, I decided all I would do is let them get married and have a bartender. The guests spent a lot of time at the bar. Their bladders dropped and several left early. Even with that, the party ended at top level.
The party is over, yet a few linger at the bar. Once they finished their drinks they took off. No limo to the honeymoon and no vacation was planned.
Here is the real reason I moved the sim in. There has been several posts on the sim group regarding three way calling. I'd accidentally seen this a long time ago but never really pushed to figure it out. I sort of thought it was a glitch. This was the next lot I played and I wanted to play test the three way calling. Before I could, a sim would need to move in. I moved in the sim Mr. McGreggor had the best relationship with. Three way calling
- Need two landlines.
- Send two sims to "call a sim."
- Pick a sim for the first sim to call (the first sim is the one who happens to make it to the phone first)
- Pick a sim for the second one to talk to. Then a pop up appears asking if you would like to join the conversation (see picture above). I think the pop up came up before I picked a sim for the second one to talk to. Either way, the option comes up and two sims can talk to the same sim at the same time.
A very pregnant Mr. Ugly eating cheesecake at a neighbors house. (heehee)
The pet asks for food while Mr. McGreggor was cleaning the bowl. After the bowl is cleaned and filled with food, the dog asks for food. I'm glad pets ask for food. Its easy to get on to other things and not realize the bowls are empty.
My first sim death in the challenge. I knew her life was shrinking fast but thought I had another sim day or so. I'll have to buy her back at some time, I didn't write down if she earned any points. (? badges, ? vacation memories, she wasn't perm-plat and didn't complete the romance LTW)
Insurance policy card. Every since my legacy days, I've always enjoyed the inheritance. I never did a death card this way, but found it interesting. I never looked this close to the money breakdown at a sims time of death. From the looks of this single card, it appears that best friends inheritance is based on the lifetime relationship. Sims who are best friends get the lifetime plus a zero. (ex: Andrews lifetime was 86 and he got $860). Morty is a friend. His lifetime is 71 and he got $355.
Here is a shot of all of Catherine's friends at the time of her death.

Chance card for Leod McGreggor resulted in a promotion to Jr. Executive.
One of the groups were also discussing tips on how to make friends with a pet. This shot is a picture of a single stray dog (Rover) visit. I use the same technique with pets as I do with sims. Simply alternate between all the available interaction. For pets its give love (pick one: feed treat or stroke) then Play (pick one: fetch or razzle). Keep alternating between the two major categories and alternating between the subcategories. Alternating helps bring double plus's, if I keep on just one I tend to only earn a single plus. As soon as new option open up, I will use those. I didn't get the adopt feature. I queue up a line and then went on to watch something else. I looked up to see the stray leaving. I canceled out the queue but it was to late to see if the adopt feature came up. In the past, I've been able to adopt a stray from just one visit. (no cheats or hacks used)
Mr. McGreggor opens a shop. The main reason, I wanted to make a contact with the Bigfoot who had the career LTW for pet jobs. I wanted to give or sell Amy to him. I never made the contact but did learn a new strategy with OFB. I hired every playable sim I could that didn't already have a job. I put those sims to work on workbenches in hopes to jump start their gold badges. I had two motives on this. I'd like to have water wigglers on the lots that have dogs. Dogs will use that and sims won't need to give them a bath. The other is, of course, the "point" side to the badges. I'm not sure if anyone earned a gold badge in anything. I had 6 employee's and it was hard to keep track of who was working on what badge. (oops) I was able to promote almost all of them to managers. I didn't realize you could have more than one manager. Very nice. It was the last day of play so I didn't call to check in with the managers. I hope I remember to do that when I play the Lot again.
