04 Roth (long)

My objective with this lot was to get all the Mementos or Vacation Memories for one sim. I picked the oldest sim in the house to be the one to earn them all.
Off to the first vacation. They purchased a lot and took 3 other sims on vacation with them. I really love that option and am glad it was included in the game. Wonderful option for game creativity as well as for storyline.
I built a pond and had all the sims (especially the guests) fish. I love that visitors will keep any fish they catch and earn points toward their gold fishing badge. Both are wonderful things that will help me help them earn their badges faster.

Their first vacation was to Three Lakes. This is the special lot that you need to dig up the map to be able to go to it.
I make friends with Bigfoot and moved him in. He adds $1 to the family funds. He also comes with gold badges in all fields, a funky walk, and a special hug.
HEY MORTY (sim digging for treasure), why don't you put an apple on your head and take a few steps to the left. I'm sure Stella wont hit you, she looks like a pro. (notice ax #1 and #2).
I found this picture funny. Morty is digging for treasure between the two archery stands. I have macro statics that allows me to just click on the sim and have them "dig for treasure." He picked that area and not me. Silly very unwise, sim.
Sims return from the vacation. It was a working vacation and not a resting one.
Big foot has a LTW for pet jobs. I send him to the phone to purchase a pet.
Big Foot Hug.

Big foot on his way to work. His work clothes makes him look like a monkey.
Good dog eat the homework.
Off to the next vacation spot.
Tiki Island. Dad gets the voodoo doll.
Oh the fun starts here.
  1. The youngest child passed out from heat stroke. I didn't even notice a warning that he was getting hot. The social worker has arrived to remove him from the family.
  2. A further out shot of the lot. Shows the social worker at her van and the child still on the ground in the backyard.
  3. The mom and dad both pass out from heat.
  4. The dad cries over the loss of his son.
  5. The mom cries over the loss of her son.

Here is a picture of the dad passed out from heat with a pop up saying "This vacation is worth every penny." The child is laying in the yard.

I have a horrible time keeping the sims from overheating. I decide to end the vacation short.
  1. Dad calls to end the vacation
  2. Everyone grabs their bags and heads to the car. The mom suffers another round of heat stroke (her 4th) and is out cold in the back yard. Everyone else is in the car or on their way so can't splash her with water. I figure she is doomed to be my first vacation death.
  3. You can see Morty and Bigfoot setting and waiting in the car. The mom is in view outside through the taxi window.
  4. Nightfall comes and her temp drops. She gets up on her own and gets into the car.
The mom has a pretty red plumbob. Hunger wasn't a problem it was everything else that crashed.

Bigfoot returns home from his first day at work. I got this pop up and a stove next to the mailbox.

The family went on their third vacation. Morty is saying Hi to the wise man on the special lot. After he says "hi" to the old man they each hang out ignoring the old man.
If I ignore him long enough, he will preform Tai Chi. Here is a picture of the group joining him. Another vacation memory done.
After they all learn to tai chi, one sim made friends with the wise man. He then begins to tell them the dragon legend.
I wonder if the two females are learning much as the watch from behind the tree.
NINJA TIME!!!! We play a nice game of Ninja tag. I load about 4 or 5 lots before I finally manage to get the dad to learn to teleport from the Ninja.
We return to the vacation lot and I put Bigfoot to work creating a servo. Other sims work on random skills or badges. Not much time left for the vacation and all memories are earned.

Time to return home.
Bigfoot activates the Servo he created. I named the servo Nanny and her last name is Bigfoot.
Bigfoot returns home from work and again has a special item. This time its in his backpack. He is in the criminal career track.
All three vacation spots have been visited. All memories earned from each of them. The next thing is to have 5 good vacations and a few other small things to finish off the memories.

I send the family back to Three Lakes. They moved in a total of three Bigfoots. I was trying to see if the game would create a female bigfoot. So far, they are all males.

I want to earn voodoo dolls for other sims so send them to the tiki island. First thing I do is build the hut bigger, to prevent heat stroke problems.
First floor. Uni style bathroom, living room and large kitchen.

Second floor. One bedroom with a balcony for the telescopes.

The mom gets her voodoo doll.

Bigfoot is learning to fire dance. All the other playable sims are showing off their fire dance skills.
They check into a hotel so the sims could earn the "order room service" vacation memory.
for three.
Servo playing the log game with Morty.
I spent several (real life) days of play to get Morty all of his vacation memories. That was a lot of work. I did this out of interest and to play test the vacation memories in order to decide the rules for this option in my challenge. Sim needs to earn 40 out of the 45 vacation memories to earn 1 point.
Over time, I think several of them will be tedious to get and be a fun killer. Therefore, we went with 40 allowing us some freedom to avoiding 5 memories that we don't wish to bother with over and over. Even with this, it will take 3 vacations, one to each lot to earn 40.

The passing out was hillarious. It's nice to see what all you were able to accomplish for vacation.

I have a question. Where can you and can't you earn the fishing badges? You can on your own home and on your owned vacation home. You can't on community lots. So can you while visiting another sims home? It seems you say you can while visiting another sims vacation home, right?

By the way, I completely agree with your rule change to make the gold badges worth a point a piece. Getting all of them is so hard and not very realistic.

In my game, all sims earn their fishing badge anytime they fish. If they fish on an OFB lot, the owner of the lot get the fish. If a visitor fishes on your home lot, the fish they catch will be in their own inventory.

The sims is a one of those games that don't always work the same on all of our systems. So far, this is what I've seen in mine. I have all EP's and only the Holiday stuff pack.

Thanks for the info, Jan. I'll have to experiment around more in my game.
